What: 3rd Annual "Friends of the Refuge - Mississippi River Pools 7 & 8" (FOR78) Social and Annual Meeting

Members of "Friends of the Refuge - Mississippi River Pools 7 & 8" (FOR78) are invited to come together with other “Friends" for our Annual Social on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Refuge Visitor Center.

This year’s Social will provide you with a sweet treat while you enjoy the artistry and nature experiences of Brice Prairie native, Steve Marking. Steve is an entertainer and riverlorian for American Cruise Lines - educating and traveling the length of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. He will engage us with his nature film, “Riverscapes”, which was captured entirely on the Upper Mississippi National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, as well as story and song from his life on the River. You won’t want to miss this one-of-a kind program.

During the Social, you will have time to socialize with other "Friends", hear about “Friends” activities of the past year and renew your membership (if you have joined since last May, you do not need to renew). You may also renew online at www.for78.org/join

If "volunteer work" was one of your New Year's resolutions, there will be opportunities at the Social to learn more about some of what will be available in 2018. You may want to sign-up to work the gardens this spring, design clothing for the store, greet visitors at the front desk, clerk in the store, become a FOR78 Board member or represent “Friends of the Refuge” at Earth Day and Youth Outdoor Fest.  We are always looking for people to help us fulfill our mission.
